Careers Webquest - Introduction

Page history last edited by Mr. Howard 10 years, 4 months ago

Introduction

“What do I want to be when I grow up? Impossible!  I can’t decide now what I want to do with my life!  I’m only in middle school, after all.  How do they expect me to decide on a career now when I don’t even know what classes I’m going to take in high school?”

Does this feel familiar to you?  Chances are, by the time you reach the end of your eighth grade year, you have been asked about what you want to be when you grow up.  Do you have an answer?

Goals

  1. Students will take interest surveys to learn more about themselves.
  2. Students will choose two careers based on interests and style.
  3. Students will research two careers to find facts based on job description, salary, training, and other factors.
  4. Students will compare and contrast the careers they have researched.
  5. Students will self-evaluate their project using a checklist.
